All-Ages Pop Culture & Fandom Event! Join Extra Life in the Conference Center for Video Game Tournaments!
Dust off those capes, grab your favorite set of dice, and get ready to start your next adventure at the Main Library on Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. It's a celebration of all the books, comics, games, TV shows, and movies you love... all in the heart of downtown Jacksonville! Make memories, make friends and show off your best cosplay or fandom-inspired art this Spring Break! This is a FREE event, open to the public. Make sure your fandom is represented! Dress up as your favorite hero, space wizard, movie monster or original D&D character! There will be a Kids Costume Parade at 1 p.m. in the Children's Room (2nd Floor) for kids (ages 11 and under) and their families. If you're 12 or older, compete against other cosplayers for a chance to win a fun prize (and bragging rights)! Assemble on the Main Stage (Zimmerman Overlook, 1st Floor) for a Cosplay Contest for Teens (ages 12-17) at 3 p.m. and a Cosplay Contest for Adults at 3:30 p.m.

29th Annual Festival of Lights 5k
On Saturday, December 7, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of Jacksonville will host the 29th Annual Festival of Lights 5k to raise vital funding for the pediatric programs at UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. The streets of beautiful San Marco will be lit up as thousands of runners, and walkers of all ages take off during this unique, winter race. For nearly three decades, this event has brought families together during the holiday season. Every year, we see thousands of participants cross the start line in their favorite holiday attire, each one wearing the event’s signature jingle bells on their shoes. The Festival of Lights 5K is a family favorite that has continued to grow year after year.

Tabletop Appreciation Weekend
We are back for Extra Life Tabletop Appreciation year 6 but this time we are getting an early start. Synching up with National Board game day so mark your calendars for April 12 -14.
Come join us and find some new passions, or simply connect with people looking to play together. If you have celebrated with us in the past then you know all levels of board gamers are welcome. There will be an excellent selection of some of the most fun and interesting board games of our time.
Our Play to Win's are returning and player's will have a chance to take home some brand spanking new board games. Did we mention raffle prizes, well there will be raffles. A $5 contribution is requested for participation in the Play to Wins. Extra Lifers feel free to donate it to your personal page. I know you may be thinking “Five Dollars” but 100% will go towards our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
How do you get a raffle ticket? Glad you asked. There are three ways to get a raffle ticket:
1. Sign up for Extra Life
2. Every $10 spent in store
3. Every $10 donated to Extra Life
Never Played before? No problem we will teach attendees the basic rules, set up, and how to play each of the games, perform demonstrations of the newest games, and be close at hand in case players have questions while they play on their own. Also if you stayed tuned to this page we'll let you know where you can find the how to play videos as well.
